The Recorder Karate Awards Program was developed to allow students to excel in the area of playing their
recorder and be recognized for their efforts. Third and Fourth grade students are able to test with Mr. Podnar and receive
a "belt" to display on their recorder when they successfully pass the "belt test" they are woking on. Just as in Karate,
the further the student advances in the colors, the more of the art they have mastered.
To further encourage students to participate, the third grade class and the fourth grade class with the most people
on the most advanced belts will be treated to a party towards the end of the school year.
